EarthReach International Ltd. is owned by EarthReach Pty. Ltd. and three principals, who manage all aspects of the organisation’s operation. Although each is capable across a full range of disciplines, each focuses on their speciality strength.
Mike Cunnington (mike@earthreach.org) has 33 years experience in the drilling & directional drilling business, and has witnessed and participated in the invention and advent of then new side-entry wireline steering tools, MWD and later FE-MWD systems, horizontal drilling techniques, Steerable Motors, Extended Reach Drilling, Adjustable Stabilisers, Drilling Optimisation techniques and equipment, Multi-Lateral Drilling and Completion, and Rotary Steerable drilling tools.
Mike has worked in South America, North America, Europe and the North Sea, most nations in the Middle East, Brunei, Norway and Australia. More recently Mike has provided engineering and project review for customers in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Azerbaijan India and Australia. Mike is involved with aspects of many EarthReach projects, and has recently relocated to Brisbane to head up the new EarthReach Coal drilling services business there. (www.earthreach.com.au).
Colin Walker (walker@earthreach.org) has over 36 years experience in the directional drilling business and is an industry acknowledged pioneer of horizontal and extended reach drilling techniques. Very much a “thinking man’s” directional driller, Colin is a leading expert on the design of Rotary Steerable Drilling and other directional tools, and has considerable experience in the analysis and development of most of the new directional drilling technologies of the last 20 years.
Colin has extensive experience in the North Sea, Europe, Middle-East and North Africa and has recently provided engineering review and project supervision for EarthReach customers in UK, Norway, USA, Canada and Saudi Arabia.
Peter Riches (pnjriches@earthreach.org) has 34 years experience in the oil and gas industry, with extensive supervisory and senior management experience. Well versed in the technical aspects of the drilling industry, Peter has an enviable track record in bringing operations and businesses to success, and has developed an extensive network of technical and specialist contacts throughout the world. While very much a well construction generalist, Peter brings to EarthReach the project management and financial expertise to bring our clients projects to a successful conclusion in business as well as technical terms.
Peter has global experience, having worked in Brunei, Abu Dhabi, United Kingdom, Norway, Dubai, Qatar, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Israel, Holland, Denmark, Germany, India and Nigeria.
Peter is currently providing drilling management services to Carbon Energy Ltd.’s joint venture UCG project in Chile, for their first international operation utilizing their proprietary UCG technology that was developed in Australia.
